Modcha — short for Modern Chalet House — designs and builds high-quality second dwellings for backyards across Melbourne. We're a collaboration between IDXA Architecture, a design studio with over a decade of experience, and CONN, a Melbourne-based registered building company.
Together, we bring architecture and construction under one roof, so every Modcha home is designed and built by the same team from the initial concept through to final handover.
Modcha isn't a granny flat in the traditional sense. At 60sqm or less, every home is thoughtfully designed to feel like a genuine home — not an afterthought in the backyard. Whether it's for family, a home office, or rental income, every Modcha home is built for comfortable, everyday living.
