Koyya (こや) comes from the Japanese term for "small house": 小 (small) and 屋 (house or roof). It's the word for a hut, cabin or shack, humble in scale but complete in itself. That's the idea we built this business on. In Victoria we call this kind of build a "granny flat," and the name says it all: something shed-like, something temporary, something you tolerate rather than love. We wanted the opposite.

Koyya is the product of a partnership between IDXA Architects, who lead the design, and CONN, a registered builder who brings it to life. Between us, we carry over 20 years of combined experience across domestic building (unlimited), commercial building (unlimited), architecture, quantity surveying and project management.
